Music Therapy in Hospice and Palliative Care

This learning activity presented by Dr. Noah Potvin, PhD, LPC, MT-BC; Molly Hicks, MMT, MT-BC; and Rebecca Kronk, MSN, RN, and focuses on Palliative Care Considerations of Music Therapy. Both Dr. Potvin and Molly Hicks are Board Certified Music Therapists who have completed a minimum of 1200 hours of clinical training, including over 200 practicum hours and 1000 internship hours. This team of music therapy experts will discuss how the incorporation of music therapy as a core service for hospice and palliative care can impact overall patient outcomes.

Target Audience: Registered and advanced practice nurses, case management, spiritual care, and other care providers of hospice and palliative care

The desired outcome of this activity is > 80% of participants will indicate that this activity validated, enhanced, or will lead to a change in professional practice of incorporating music therapy as a treatment in providing palliative care for those living with advanced heart failure.

Accredited Continuing Education Contact Hours: 1.0-hour credit award for successful completion which includes attesting to activity participation and completing/submitting the evaluation within the time frame specified. (60-minutes per contact hour). This activity expires on 3/1/2025.
